Usability Resources > Evaluation/Testing > Introduction

Evaluation is sometimes tedious, occasionally frustrating, and frequently embarrassing - especially as we watch people (users) uncover gaping holes in what we had considered to be a well-conceived and well-executed design.

Evaluation is crucial in any quality activity; if we want quality products, we must apply ourselves to uncovering the faults that are inherent in any user interface, and mitigate or eliminate them.

Usability testing is, for many people, a daunting activity to undertake. We believe that an acceptable standard of testing can be achieved by most organizations, and that valuable improvements to products can be identified readily.
